Papa takes the girls to the zoo

It was my first excursion into the real world with both girls by myself. Either they both new this or I was just lucky because we had a blast!

I kept Beatrix in the Baby Bjorn with a sun hat on top of her and she mostly slept the entire time save a short hunger spell that was fixed by the primate area;)

Xana was content to stay in the umbrella stroller most of the time… oooing and ahhhhing at the bears and monkeys and entertaining the visitors with her silliness. At one point, her and I called over the peakcock with our highly trained bird call… the crazy thing actually strutted on over to us. THAT was a hoot!

Xana lost her pink sunglasses so I found this pair in the park… it had FLAMINGOS on it! Perfect. The photo here is of Xana devouring the soft-serve ice cream Pappa HAD to get. As usual, she waited until I was almost done before claiming it as hers. Now, if I can only teach her to eat a cone from the TOP-down and not start at the bottom. It WAS a cute outfit:(

Chica On My Phone

This is what happens when Xana steals my iPhone. I have an application I installed just for her which allows her to “Dress Chica”. For those of you who are clueless, Chica is a puppet from the Good Morning Show on the Sprout channel. There’s at least 20 pictures of Chica in my photo library on my phone.

V.I.P.s For The Day

Last week, the Colorado Rapids sent out an email promotion which stated the first 24 people to respond will get to meet coach Gary Smith outside the training room for a little insight into the day’s match against Chivas U.S.A. The email also claimed that your child MIGHT become an honorary captain for the day and will trot out to mid-field to meet Rapid’s captain, Pablo Mastroeni and receive a signed Jersey!

Well, I dared the front office to deny my daughter the opportunity to become captain by sending them a picture of the two of us during one of this years games in our uniforms. Alas, they picked someone else, but we DID get to meet Gary and talk with him before the game. You can see Xana’s VIP pass here.

I’ve also included the photo I sent the front office because it’s just a cute shot!

Kid Comparison

This image was taken 2 years and 8 days apart. Xana, on the left at 7 weeks and Bea, on the right at 7 weeks, maybe 6.

I love the comparison here. The noses are the same, the lips are REALLY close and they both have chubby cheeks. With their eyes closed they look much more alike than when they are opened wide, however Bea’s eyes have gotten large like Xana’s but darker.
